THIS LIMITED EDITION IS SOLD OUT
Tony Oursler’s work is inspired by the fantasy worlds of contemporary teenagers. By using imagery sourced from TV and the Internet, he examines the effects of visual stimuli overload on young people and their insatiable media-appetite.
The Revolving Lamp explores the link between the coding of games and the simultaneously productive and destructive use of creative energy. The images printed on the four outer panels of the lamps were taken from AWGHTGTTA (Are we gonna have to go through this again?), a public art project commissioned and produced by More Art. Clear circular spots on the lampshade allow the images to project on the wall.
Tony Oursler is represented by Metro Pictures, NY, and has exhibited widely, from the Metropolitan Museum, NY, to the Musée d’Orsay, Paris.
Acrylic, Stainless Steel, Printed Acetate, Paper. Limited edition of 50, 7” x 7” x 9”, 40 watt bulb, framed.
